Dec. 20th went in for a follow up on the surgery they did on the foot that had the bone removed. It still hasn't healed and according to the Dr. it will take quite awhile since the insurance doesn't cover "cosmetic surgery". They took additional x-rays and found more cancer so they decided to do more surgery. The Dr. is having me come back to talk about the surgery in a couple of days Dec. 23 Went in for surgical appt. They were going to show me what they were going to do on the next surgery they were going to do. They took x-rays, had me go into the Dr.s office and wait so he could show me EXACTLY what they would be cutting out. He came in the Room and with a supprised face said THERE IS NOTHING THERE!!!!!!!!. I don't have to go back for any more surgery or even follow-up appts for another 3 months. Sure I still have to take meds because the surgery did cause some infection which has NOT cleared up. But the Cancer is GONE. WHOO HOOOO I just got the BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT ON THE PLANET. I hope EVERYONE gets this GREAT a news

Well that's good news and bad news. I always look at the good as a blessing, because it COULD be ALL bad news. Keep pushing and you will overcome this. Wishing you well.

You can live without a foot, but you can't live without a life.

Get a second opinion, but if, as you say, it is growing fast, don't delay a second. In this situation, I don't see how they could delay you getting a second or third look immediately. Call your team and ask for clarification of what they meant. Get to the bottom of this asap for peace of mind if nothing else.

I guess it all depends on your diagnosis if they do more surgery or not. If they say you have a good chance then yes I'd do it. If they say it's gone too far I would say not. It's up to you. That is my choice not yours. I hope that don't sound insensitive. I wouldn't want to prolong it. Has it gone pasted the foot? I could live with out a foot. I couldn't if it spread to another organ.

      Good Luck,
      Deb

I say be as aggressive as you can be. I can't imagine having to think about losing a limb, but you can either just sit back and let the cancer take you over or you can make the choice to do anything you can to survive. Get second opinions and then make your decision. I'm very sorry about what you're going through and I hope the best for you.
