Hi there, remember that going through surgery will definitely do things to your body including making your digestive system irregular. It will take some time for your body to be back to a normal if you could call it. Definitely consult with your oncologist before trying anything new. I personally have had my fair share of issues with my digestive system...from being extremely constipated to diarrhea. When it comes to constipation try eating food high in fiber. I've also included Metamucil. I sometimes tend to take the more natural way than take pills. With every pill comes a side effect and I think by taking so many laxatives per day you might not be letting your body regulate itself on its own.

After my surgery, my gastroenterologist had me experiment with Metamucil (generic is fine). It took a while to get the dose right, but I take it morning & night. It is not addicting & is all natural. It is 3 years later & it sure helps, though I am still unpredictable & go often, so I had to get on Dissability. Sometimes I seem to live in the potty, but that beats constipation I think! Give it a try & see a goo gastro doc. Good luck, it is a difficult surgery to recover from.

Procedure or Surgery (Colon surgery (colectomy or hemicolectomy)): On April 5th i started my day out with a colonoscopy to tattoo the section to be removed then around 1pm the same day i was in surgery for about 3 hours . The doctor removed 9 inches of my colon and 13 lymph nodes. I was in the hospital for 7 days.

Oh No (Problem with doctor): My doctor i originally started out with did my first colonoscopy found my cancer over a year ago. When he told me i was going through other issues with my back and surgery with that. So it must not has been to important for him cause he just wrote me off. I finally went to another soctor a year later. Yea part of the fault was mine but as a doctor diagnosing someone with cancer you would think he would keep contacting you. I was never really told much about it when he diagnosed me with the colon cancer.
