When you get a diagnoses such as cancer, as an individual that it is happening to we don't have a choice but to face the reality of it and live the reality or it. Our families and friends have a choice to not face it and many don't by walking away. I think its painful for them to see us sick. My best friend from college is no longer my best friend; my brother's response was "its unfortunate that your having health issues" in a email and thats it. It hurts and it sucks. As I began feeling better, my friend wanted to resume where we left off... I on the otherhand want to invest in friends who will be there when I need them to be. I am not off the hook forever and need to know if I give myself away to you will you care enough to be there for me even when its hard? If not, I don't have time to invest. Sorry this is happening to you...I know its painful and hard to let go. Try to not let it overwhelm you to the point that its draining the energy you need to get better. Hang in there. Hugs. I really am sorry for you and your situation... Take care

It's sad that family and friends are not able to support you. It happened to me too. I just said to myself that I needed to focus on my healing and not be angry and hurt that they left me. Try to do the same. I found that breast cancer support groups and making friend with other cancer survivors helpful. God Bless and be strong.

How are you doing Liz? Are you feeling stronger? Yoga, Qi gong and exercise has helped me. You may want to read about mindfulness.
