Oh No (Cancer is back/Recurred ): In 2012 I was diagnoised with Pagets. I had surgery to remove the nipple on the breast I had a lumpectomy In 2003. They did the margins and I was told I had a recurrance of the first cancer. This time it was determind it was insitu and I had a masectomy with tram flap. I was told I did not need any further treatment. This past October I had a yearly mamo. They said it was negative. About a month ago I found hard lump under my armpit on the same side. I was going back to see the plastic surgeon about a revision to fix the chest wall. I told him about it and he is going to remove it and do a biopsy. I had asked the tech doing the mamo why they only xray the other breast. I asked if it was possible to get it again on that side. She said there was no need because their was no breast tissue. I don't understand why they don't do ultrasonds to make sure. Now I might have the cancer back again. This is the second time the mamo didn't detect the cancer. I think they need to rethink their procedures whom had recurrences. They should not assume the mamo's are 100 %. I am going in the hospital in two weeks. Then it will be the wait to find out if it positive.

Get it checked out! You never know, it could be scar tissue or an old hematoma but in any case you need to have someone look at it. If it is a recurrence, the earlier you treat, the better.

request an ultrasound for detailed observation, but than it could be hormonal changes too, I go through that monthly it comes and goes, ultrasounds ruled out anything bad.

Just an update. I went to see my plastic surgeon for an issue with my reconstruction. While I was there I had him look at the lump under my arm. He did not think it was anything, but told me he will remove when I have my revision to my reconstructed breast. He will be doing a biopsy when thar happens. I am trying to stay positive and not worry about a 3rd
      Recurrence.
