Hey Lynn, it's been a long time. Are you going to OCRA conference this year?

I sure will be there! We will have to meet since we didn't even know that we were there together last year, lol. We are flying in Thursday evening and leaving Monday. Congratulations on your CA125, that is wonderful news. I have been stable also and just had year 6 in April. I am really looking forward to seeing Dr. Gershenson from MD Anderson. I have been following his research on low grade serous OVCA since my diagnosis. Hoping he has some good news to share. Looking forward to meeting you too, my real sister!

I'm still toying with the idea of attending too.

They have some very interesting speakers. You really will get a high off of all the positive support and energy. We are flying in on Thursday and thought we could go to dinner with you that evening or possibly go to dinner Friday night. LMMitchell , another ovarian cancer survivor on WhatNext wrote on my wall she will be attending also. I plan to say hi sometime during the convention. She was diagnosed in 2013 also, you may remember her. She attended last year’s convention but neither of us knew we were there. You know breakfast and lunch are provided Saturday and Sunday. I did not realize the convention was not over until late Sunday afternoon so Paul and I will miss the talks after 1:00pm on Sunday since we will have to leave for the airport. Get off the fence lady. When will the convention be as near to you again? The question and answer part of the convention is so so informative and instead of 1 hour they are having 2 hours this year. I really do not see a down side for any ovarian cancer survivor attending the convention except possibly the pocketbook, but it is money well spent.

Hi Lynne. I am doing good. Just passed the 3 year mark, as you should be about there too right? STRUGGLING terribly with weight issues. I weigh more now than when I gave birth to my last child! Also having some shoulder issues, doctor says it is arthritis. How about you? Feeling good I hope. Congrats on 50th!!!! I hope to make it that far. Have a blast at Disney. Never too old to unleash the child in you.

Hi Abi, I was wondering if you would share with me about your recurrance. How was it found and how long has it been since your last treatment? I had the same diagnosis, grade and stage as you

Looks like our stories are the exact same! My pathology was all LMP at first too until it went to the cancer board and they changed the diagnosis. I don't quite understand the hormone therapy though. I thought if it was hormone receptive it would grow the cancer

That's how I understand it, but when my oncologist explains it it makes sense. My husband understands it too. I had a full hysterectomy so my body still produces very low doses of hormone, and this hormone therapy inhibits the cancer from responding.
I pray for you that your cancer does not return.

Thank you. I don't want it to return either obviously and it is always on my mind. Since we are low grade it is harder to predict what will happen. After taking a minute to think about the hormone therapy I think I understand. I was thinking replacement therapy not inhibitor. That is where the confusion was. An inhibitor makes perfect sense. I am so sorry you have to go through this again and so soon . I will keep you in my prayers. It is a blessing that you have a treatment option.
