      I agree, this doesn't sound like neuropathy. Is this what your doctor is saying? I've heard of vocal cord paralysis and many might call this neuropathy. You'd need to see an ENT as already noted. Take care, Judy

      A doctor once insisted I take an antibiotic to which I am allergic. Just one pill, he said, couldnt hurt me. I acquesced. In very short order I was unable to speak. An ENT took a look down my throat and said she hadnt ever seen such a right swollen vocal chord outside of a textbook.

      They wanted to give me prednisone but I thought they had done quite enough, thank you. I drank certain herbal teas for nearly four months before my voice came back.

      Do you have any allergens with which you might have come in contact?

      As all the others have said you need to see your Dr. NOW. If your Dr. can't give you a satisfactory answer get a second opinion.
