I have been on Tamoxifen for 2 months and have had no side effects. Oncologist said if I was going to have side effects, they would have occurred already. Have you considered taking the Tamoxifen and if you can't tolerate it, then discontinue; Then you know you at least tried.

I was wondering it I couild get advice on if I should take Tamoxifen? The oncologist says it's my decision since they caught my DCSI early but it was ER+ and PR+ but very low from my understanding. I had a lumpectomy and 30 rounds of radiation. The oncologist says he isn't comcerned of it recurring in the breast i had the DCSI but the other one, I'm at a greater risk because my sister has breast cancer also and we are 52 and 49. Would appreciate any input from anyone who has taken Tamoxifen on the side effects.

Hi Louise,
I thought it might help to read through some of the other conversations on WhatNext about tamoxifen. Here is the link: http://www.whatnext.com/questions?utf8=✓&question_query=tamoxifen
Hope this helps.
Thanks!

That is what my oncologist suggested to try it for a month to see how I do with it. I feel taking it to reduce the reincurrance out weigh's the side effects, my husband is a little concerned about it causing a blood clot, he had one this last year and it's not fun going through that but the chances are so slim of that happening. Thanks for the advice!
