    lyndsey29 asked a questionNon-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL)

If I had ALK + anaplastic large cell lymphoma, am I more likely to get other ALK + cancers?

Since ALK is simply a factor which either is present or is not present on the surface of the ttumor cells, I do not think that you are at any higher risk. Where those cells originate is probably a larger factor to consider. You probably know this, but with ALCL, having ALK+ is a big benefit as far as treatment success and long-term prognosis. This is an excellent question to ask doctor at next visit.

I was treated for both uterine and thyroid cancers. I was told that the treatment for each of these will increase my odds of developing other cancers (leukemia) in the future. So, the treatment you are receiving might increase your odds.
