CindyH., Welcome to "What Next" I had my bladder removed on 4/13/08 and have been cancer free since. I did not have to get chemo or radiation (thank God). I am doing very well these days. We have a small group of Ostomy patients where I live and we support each other and any new ostomy patient that wants our help. These folks helped me so much in the beginning as I learned to adjust to living with and Ostomy. I hope you will find help and comfort also. Best Wishes!

Welcome cjc505, I'm glad you found our What Next group. I've found it comforting knowing others who have been down this path before me. I also found an Ostomy support group that has been very helpful, often times they can answer questions that even my doctor can't. Best wishes with your treatment.

Dear redzada123, Welcome to the What Next Bladder Cancer group. Your brothers diagnosis sounds very scary, however, we do live in a good age for medical miracles and I'll certainly be praying for one for your brother. I just celebrated my 6th year cancer free and I hope your brother will have a lot of good years too.

Thank you for your kind words. I hope you are right and I am so happy for you! I need to get my head wrapped around this so I can be of help and not a mess. I would like to get a benefit together. I know I can do it. My head just can't grasp where to start. I know they need it being he and his wife have no insurance.

A benefit sounds like a great idea. It seems like once we get involved in a solution we feel better. Check with your church or if there is one a cancer support group they often know what's available locally. Let friends/family help out so you don't get burned out. I'll be keeping you and your family in my prayers, it may not sound like much but I believe it sure helped me. What a blessing you are to your brother.

Dear hildiesmom, Welcome to the What Next Bladder Cancer site, I had my bladder removed on 4/12/08 and have had a Urostomy since then, it certainly was a life changer, however, on the brighter side through this process I've met so many wonderful supportive people. I hope that you will find that kind of support and friendship as you also go through this process. Best Wishes!
