I had two surgerys on my throat, I now have scar tissue in my throat that makes it difficult to swallow. I had a malignant tonsil that was cut out, then they decided I should have another surgery to take out more margins around the tonsil site about a month later. Then a radical neck disection on R side of neck. Then Radiation. I have had a few scares with getting choked, but it is something I got used to. I have to swallow things a little different, and I try to eat mostly soft, liquidy foods.
You will have to be the judge of course as to whether or not to have the surgery, the only other option doesn't seem to good. My mom and dad both died from cancer, I tried to steer them towards what ever would make them comfortable. Both were considered "uncurable"
Did they tell you he would choke? If so, from what, the tumor, or from the treatments/surgery?
