Radiation (External radiation ): (Submitted on June 24, 2013) The side effects came with pain ... the sore throat; the inability to swallow and eat (it hurt to even drink water to keep hydrated); been drinking a lot of Orgain for nutrition; couldn't take all of my daily meds. I developed a thick mucus which made me want to spit up a lot. Neck: 1st then 2nd degree burn which was helped by Aquaphor, saline soaks and Rx (Hydrocortisone) for the itch. Impact to Daily Life: Inasmuch as it is summer, I could not hide my burnt neck, which was a bit embarrassing because I was still working. I just took a medical leave from work. Last week of treatments: I lost my voice - it became very raspy.

Hi Shel ~ Just found your wall. Since you started treatment about a month ago (May 2013), I'm curious as to how you're doing. Did you do both chemo and radiation? Are you finished with treatments? Post an update when you have a chance.
