This time last year I had just completed chemo and was facing surgery and radiation treatments. It was all complete by the end of April and I am so grateful for my good outcome. I decided I would paint an angel for my annual Christmas card each year as a way fo commemorate my healing gift from god. Here is my first one - I hope it will be the first of many. ;-) Merry Christmas, my new friends, thank you for encouraging and helping me.

Hi,Phnx253. We have the same diagnoses, but I completed my treatment this past April. My doctors took me through chemotherapy before the surgery and that turned out well for me because my body quickly responded to chemo. But, I remember chemo(!)-I had 15 infusions. And I had all the same side effects you have mentioned except for hot flashes, but I am older than you and through menopause. My surgery was followed by 30 days of radiation. It sounds like a lot - and it was, but it worked and I feel great now. I have traveled most of the summer and am back to my regular activities. I know how discouraging it is to be facing holidays when you are tired and can't even taste the wonderful food. But this too, will pass. And soon you will be longing for the simplicity of tossing on one of those cute head covers instead of fussing with your hair. :-) Be as strong as you can, I will be praying for your full recovery.

I have not been diagnosed with osteo but I have suspected it for some time. I have brought it up to my oncologist but they seem to think it's not important right now. they want to concentrate on the cancer first then look at that. It seems like we could do both.

Ask to have a Dexa scan. Painless..no contrast. They can and do treat both. Aromatase inhibitors can do negative things to your bones. You and your doctors need accurate info to make good choices for you. Tell your doc you are able to do two things at once. And really even more! Hugs!!!
Ps. Remember, that doc is on your team but YOU ARE THE CAPTAIN. I said that to a very ‘important doctor’, caught him off guard, and we had great communication after that.

I have been given a 0.5% chance of being alive after these 11 years. Had I worried about potential this or that, I'd simply be gone. I did not listen! (One of my best qualities).
