I have always had a low blood sugar problem but when I has chemo it really went crazy. The Dr.s said it was my cancer stealing all the sugar in my blood. It was six months after treatment before my blood sugar was even normal for me. But the crazy sudden drops stopped after a few weeks. However because I was on a feeding tube the whole time the formula that was used in the tube was being monitored and I suspect they put me on a pretty high glucose formula.

I am having trouble also. They think it might be the steroids. I have to go and get my medication adjusted because it was 430 and now in low to mid 300s. I am also dealing with breast cancer chemo meds. Get yours checked out. Take care!

I have been on as much as 95mg of daily prednisone, and was cautioned to watch my sugar intake. I tend to hypoglycemia, so a slight rise did not affect me all that much. And yes, cancer cells do use a lot of sugar as they clone themselves in an uncontrolled manner. But, sugar is the energy that our healthy cells also use, so a normal sugar level gives us the best fighting chance against this.
