Sending you and your mom prayers and healing vibes. I have not had to deal with a situation like yours, but as Greg mentioned others have and i'm sure you will get some very useful information. One suggestion is to speak with you mom and find out what she feels she needs to make her feel more comfortable with the transition. it is very hard to move from your home and live some where else under any circumstances, not to mention the emotional and physical side effects of treatment. Also make sure you have a support community for you as well as your mom, being a caregiver is a very hard job.

Please consider having her seen at M.D. Anderson before you make this move.. They can decide upon a treatment plan and then you can have the plan administered anywhere. I will tell you that a new report concluded that the elderly do better with Lung cancer surgery than younger people and yet they are not being offered or given this option even if they are otherwise healthy.

Please consider having her seen at M.D since she is already there in Texas. It might save her life.

Try Cancer grace to give you some data on Lung Cancer but even then its already a bit outdated. Yes, new therapy is happening so fast..If not MD how about UT Southwest..They are very good with Lung cancer too..
I just posted a new podcast that is wonderful..
      All the best,
