Hello martyp, Welcome to WhatNext where you may find someone who is on the same cancer journey as yourself. I myself am a stage IV, 17yr, pancreatic cancer survivor. So you see this disease can be beat. People ask me how I did it? It was persistence and determination to bneat this disease. It was the cards and letters from so many family, and friends that kept me going. I saved all of those cards and letters and pull them out around my day of surgery...November 3, 2000. I would also be a fool to not think there was some Devine intervention that took place. Never give up hope martyp...and get out of the house every day. Don't sit at home talking yourself into a state of depression. I have gone out every day since the day of my surgery. At first I would go to the mall, and have lunch in the food court, now I go to Chick-fil-A every day for the past 6-7 years. They treat me so well...and allow me to keep a bottle of Thousand Island dressing behind the counter for my salad. I am probably the only person who goes to Chick-fil-A every day and doesn't order chicken. They recently built a new Chick-fil-A and have now added a button on all the cash registers that say..."Russ' fries, and Russ' salad"...and that's all they have to push for my order. You don't have to go out for lunch every day like I do...you can just to the mall and people watch. If you don't feel up to it at least get out to the front stoop and take in some sun. At first I would walk to the mailbox and back before I was finally able to walk around the block...then it was driving to the mall, and now Chick-fil-A. Never give up hope martyp. Remember that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and that light is the candle of hope. My best to you martyp...Russ

      Hi
I do get around and have fun flying my drone and sometimes doing live feeds on Facebook of our sunsets here in the north end of the San Francisco Bay.

I am also trying to build a coin selling business and other things to take up my time.

I also have my younger brother living with us who also has cancer that we are trying to get under control.

I don’t think I am heading towards the oven just yet . But with family history it would be a foolish thing to not know what coming for me .
