Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): Hi, my father has lung cancer NSCLC,stage iv for 2.5 years now. He got chemo treatment and until last January it worked really good:
Cisplatin + Alimta
Alimta
Terceva
Taxoter
Gemzar + Carboplatin
Gemzar
Taxol
Navelbine
CT performed in January 2012 showed metastases also in right lung with small
pleural effusion and in abdomen (peritoneum).
He has a pleurx plug which we drain the fluids from the lung.
EGFR test: negative
3 ALK tests could not be performed, because not enough cell material found
4th ALK test with enough cell material: negative.
KRAS test was not done, can anyone explain what is it? the Dr. said it's not relevant for him.
We are at the last chemo known for treatment for him- Nevalbin. Can anyone suggest what can we do to find if there are more treatments available? Who can we talk too? Are there any more drugs that are still experamental?do you know of anyone who got crizotinib even though tested negative for Alk?
Thanks in advance,
