They do standard treatments with possibly more of the personal details like limo service, environment, but their statistics are no better than standard treatments at reputable centers. They have been censured at least twice to cease their misleading claims of higher success by not including all patients like everyone else does, easy to google to check out. I would definitely check out a reputable medical center.

I know someone that goes to the new one in GA- they don't treat her rare kind of Cancer... But she really likes all the "other" care offered there... And travels to a specialist.

The University of Michigan is an NCI designated comprehensive cancer center so that's a good thing. If your mother is willing to travel to Chicago for a second opinion, there are two NCI designated comprehensive cancer centers: University of Chicago and Robert H. Lurie at Northwestern.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Immunotherapy - BCG): I had 6 installments of BCG following my surgery in 2011. The cath hurt every time going in to administer the BCG and they always acted like I shouldn't even feel it - not sure what that is about! The procedure was straight forward and relatively easy. The difficult part was having to rinse the toilet out with bleach after the treatment. The after effects were minimal, but did get worse with each treatment. Pain, etc. I was glad when they were over!

Procedure or Surgery (Surgery): I had surgery in May 2011 to have a tumor removed from my bladder. I had been having infections that would not respond to antibiotics for months. The scope revealed a tumor and they scheduled me for the surgery. I had surgery at Beaumont in Royal Oak, MI. It was out-patient. The worst part is they left a cath in over a holiday weekend so I had that and a bag for 5 days.

Thanks again to everyone! WELL, just to update you - it turns out it's pancreatic cancer spread to kidney and other areas :( Waiting to hear back if U of M will operate or not. If not, we are trying to get a second opinion. Thank GOD we went to U of M though because I believe DMC would have just done the kidney surgery and she probably wouldn't have made it!
