I have come to realize that I hate the terms "mass" and "tumor." My doctors use these terms when they are unsure of what something is and it sets off all kinds of alarms in my head. I'm not sure what the alternative would be, but just seeing those words can stress me out for days! I am having surgery this week to remove a "mass." Blah.

Hiii!, Started round 2 of chemo on Monday, I'll be here all week. I'm doing ok, just tired, I'm sure you know the drill. I hope you are well, hang in there girl; let's hang on together.

Hi Gretchen, I'm wondering where you are being treated? If you aren't comfortable sharing I understand. I'm also in Texas and being seen at MD Anderson. I thought maybe we could compare notes.

      Medicgirl05,
Hello, I am an oncology nurse and usually MFH is quite curable even if it is recurrent. It is a wait and see disease and there are 4 types of tissue types. Depending on the staging, tissue type does direct the plan of care. Best of luck to you, Carm RN.

Hugs. I don't know anything about MFH, but I am an expert on waiting, wondering and anxiety, and therefore have an idea of the emotional impact this is taking on you.

Take care of your emotional and physical self. Do things you enjoy, see people you love. If you are having a bad day, let people know, I have been know to answer "how are you doing" with " I have good days, I have bad days, today is a bad day" . my DH and I set up a few code phrases so we each know how grumpy the other is on any particular day.

If you like, why not call MD Anderson up and find out if they can recommend a therapist who can help you deal with your fears and anxiety and offer you practical advice on moving froward.

I have a similar experience with waiting, wondering and anxiety. Try to get paired up with someone who has or has had a similar type of cancer (R A Bach[phone number redacted].
