Hello, I am an oncology nurse. You can verify by getting a second opinion and check the standard of care in the NCCN guidelines. Best of luck to you.

First, get a second opinion. Did you have an oncotype dx test? The results might give you some reassurance. Also, do some research using books from your library or online sources that come from respected, authoritative institutions. The more you know, the better you'll feel about your decision.

Good answers everyone. I also do a lot of googleing. Sadly, there aren't a lot of options for TP MBC. Good luck.

Procedure or Surgery (Lumpectomy): Did I make the right choice in getting a lumpectomy? I feel like I have half of a breast now. Waiting on my onco type......what then??

I don’t know what your choices were, but whatever you choose with good medical advice is ok. Take one step at a time. A necessary lumpectomy is minimally invasive, as far as surgeries go. Wait for your path report that confirms your surgeon got clear margins (got all the cancer). If so, then you might need chemo or radiation, but not necessarily. I know it’s difficult, but waiting is the hardest part at times. You can do it.
