Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): My surgery was in Nov. of 2003 and in Jan. 2004 I started chemo. I had a port so getting the treatment wasn't bad. My nerves however got the best of me and I had to take Lorazipam prior to treatment so I wouldn't make myself sick. Most of the time there was little to know impact on my daily life except for the diarrhea I was experiencing. I ended up taking many doses of amodium AD in the morning to function during the day. I had very young children at the time so I was constantly having to be on the go.

Procedure or Surgery (Colon surgery (colectomy or hemicolectomy)): My surgery was successful. The main side effect I experience is having to go to the bathroom more often. It was really bad in the beginning especially during chemo, but a couple years ago I took acidophiles pills for a short time and it helped tremendously.
