Hi, how are you holding up in this heat? I hear that we're pretty much sharing the same heat wave. At least that's what the weathermen here say. It's all cool in the house with the ceiling fans and swamp cooler.

I just finished giving the stove a deep clean.

Hi, Meyati! I've been worried about you, since I haven't seen your posts for a long time. Have you and your family all been OK? And your dogs?! :)

Yes, this heat is bad here, and very humid. What is a swamp cooler? I have to tip my hat to you for being so energetic. I need to get busy and clean out to paint inside.

Hey, thanks for understanding. I have a good GI that I really like. I think that he warns them to not talk to me about lactose and wheat.

When I first saw him, he said that I could have diet and life style counseling anytime I wanted, and he recommended it.

I said- What part of me saying that I control this with diet and exercise didn't you hear? I'm in my 70s, and this was diagnosed in my mid-20s. I'm alive-I do things-I look good-so why should I change? I asked him, why does medical staff have problems when they meet people that watch their diet and exercise, when that's what they tell everybody to do? Aren't I old enough to know what my trigger foods are?

Anyway, when a drug manufacturer stopped making my main stomach medicine, $45 a month, and replaced it with a $1200+ a month for the rest of my life, I really suffered. I honestly didn't think that I'd survive the year. They stopped making it in November 2015, and I finally decided that I'd live in Sept or Oct. So, he replaced my retired GI, and he said- If you were so sick-why didn't you go to the ER? I told him that I was too sick. That it takes too long to get into the rest room-that I have to carry a 5 gallon bucket and a roll of TP so I can go in the waiting room. He asked me if I had ever done this. I said-YES- No lectures from him---I also told him that I take a bright orange Home Depot bucket, so the staff has a hint.

No problem. You shouldn't have to fight so hard to get proper treatment but some drs and staff need to go back to school or at least keep up with treatment in their area of supposed expertise. I turn 65 in Oct and I've only had problems for 3 years. It sounds like you've got a good hand on it most of the time. Yes, the ER is not the place to be when your GI system flares up. I had to laugh at your orange Home Depot bucket! That would get you hopefully quicker treatment. I do understand. I just had what turned out to be a rip roaring bacterial vaginal infection last weekend. I was on fire and sitting on an ice pack on a Sat night. I did think about the ER but I'd been at the drs office so much, I didn't feel like sitting there and waiting or spreading my legs for one more male dr. I took a shower instead and called dr the next day.
