Oh ya, I get a $3 discount for automatic shipment--and the food is way cheaper than anything comparable at WalMart, Costco, and air base. Well the air base has pretty cheap dog food, but it doesn't always have what I need in-- they are on a poultry diet because of their age. 10 to 12 years. I was trying to find a chicken kibble they would eat-they didn't like anything. I went to PetSmart- $30 for a 12 lb bag of dog special diet----I went to my computer again-prayed- did a search for chicken kibbles, felt that glow-when I ran the cursor over Chewy. I opened it up- and ran the cursor over the specific brand and poultry type of kibbles. I had that glow for for Blue Diamond chicken and rice. I ordered it- and the hounds immediately loved it.

Now Boise, you have to realize that I had been taking bags and bags of different brands of chicken kibbles to the dog pond for over a month. I kept giving them a brand for 4 or 5 days-and they decided that they would rather starve than eat it. Anyway- I was feeding both of them for about $90 a month at Chewy.

I love Chewy I have purchased from Chewy ever since I purchased a 24 can box of wet food for Nanny Cat from Petco. I found that the box contained 3 cans with popped lids. I have been with Chewy ever since. I have received a litter box and scratcher. I am waiting to see what kind of toys the new kitty will like. And whether she/he is a condo type or a perch type. Tomorrow I am going the Simply Cats to apply for adoption I am anticipating several visits before a choice is made.
I hope Stonewall remains pain free as much as possible.

Good- I'm glad that you go to Chewy too. A good condo has hidey holes and perches-That loop has both too.

Stonewall--he's a mutt. He's figured out that if he has bread- that the pain starts going away, and he can rest. Hint- I wrap the painkiller in bread.

This AM, he acted hungry and restless. Did his food begging-#1 sniffing the bowl-but he wouldn't eat. #2 going to the door to go out- then going back to his bowl and pawing at it. He still wouldn't eat, so #3- he pawed at his bowl- went into the kitchen and stood by the bread bag.

I'm giving him 5 pills a day- 50 mg Tramadol. I give him a 100 mg in the morning 8-9am then 50-100 about 6-8- it jusr depends on how he acts. Then 50 mg. Last weekend- 200 mgs did it just right- after his surgery I was giving him 1,200 mg--a day--under vet instructions--He's a strong willed dog from a tough breed. He might be knock-kneed and pigeon-toed, but he's a charming champion. Anyway after his morning meds- he went and ate lots of turkey, pasta, parsley, hard-boiled eggs, then ate some kibbles.

He went out and spent a few hours sleeping in the sun. Now he's taking his mid-afternoon nap.

His weight is still 86. They vet thinks that he might be around for some time. He used to stand in the kitchen and watch us fix a turkey, etc dinner, but he doesn't have the strength to do that now. He's tired in about 10 minutes. He goes and takes a nap for about 20 minutes and comes back.

Hi, Boise- How are you doing? Have you ever looked at the Chewy dot-com site for any of your cat toys and supplies?

I got a small catalog from them, and cat things are precious and unlike some of the things at most local stores. You really need to look. They have a big loop thing - where cats can be on top or the middle- light-easy to move.

What caught my fancy are dish towels that say cat (dog) hair is a food condiment and a fashion statement. --I showed that to my son in the hope that he'd get me a dog hair one.

Boise, you can order food from them---You know that I have large hounds-and their food consumption is all over the place because of Stonewall's cancer. I used to get 2 big bags every 4 weeks. went down to 1 bag every 3 weeks (I'm still experimenting on that. I just don't know what to expect). No problem. I have a stack of 3 dog food bins that hold 50 lbs each, to keep mice, etc. out of their food. Anyway, after a couple of weeks, I assumed that the bottom bin was half full-and the normal delivery would be by 7 days.

Stonewall decided that he was very hungry for his dog food. I opened the bin about 4 pm--and it had only enough kibbles for 2 meals. I rushed to the phone and called Chewy-and told them what happened. They said "NO PROBLEM" They said that it would take 3 days for the delivery-they cover their rear by not making false promises. About 30 hours later, the FedEx driver was standing on my porch with the dog food. Inside was a get well card for Stonewall. They didn't charge me extra for the expedite delivery.

Meanwhile, I rushed to the commissary and bought a 30 lb turkey, and started defrosting it. The dog food came before the turkey was defrosted. Any order over $50 has free shipping. I also order dog things that come with the automatic shipping.

They have the most wonderful new cat-dog brush made by Kong. It works with static electricity, Just stroke the animal with the pad, and loose hair jumps out and sticks to the pad. The hair doesn't fall loose. I just take my hand and pull the hair comes off in my hand. I don't have any trouble dumping the hair in the trash. It's so good for smooth coated heads and ears.

Anyway, you might have fun looking at Chewy's goodies.

    Take care
