Decision Point (After learning not only was I triple negative, I also have the BRCA1 mutated gene. What would be my entire treatment plan??): After tons of research, multiple appointments with mutiple doctors of multiple specialties, I decided to have chemotherapy and follow with a bilateral mastectomy and removal of my one remaining ovary.

I will soon be arriving at the same decision point. I just started chemotheraphy and my oncologist has already started indicating we will want to have a conversation about bilateral mastect and removal of my ovaries, which cannot be done until I deliver my second son (I'm 16 weeks pregnant). It seems like everything that makes me female is under attack. :(

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): I am currently undergoing chemo, I am having Adriamycin and Cytoxin. My side effects have been pretty minimal. The biggest struggle for me was losing my long, blonde, curly hair. It has always been a huge part of my identity!! I have opted to just go all natural, no wigs or scarves, I do wear a ball cap outside in order to not lose all of my body heat out the top of my head. I made a conscious decision to "own" it, it is just another part of the journey to wellness. I believe that my attitude has been huge in not being ill through chemo. I still work a full time job as well as a part time job in the evenings, it allows me to keep my life as close to normal as possible.

Decision Point (Struggling whether to have chemo and radiation or radiation only. ): After getting the news that not only am I triple negative but I also have the BRCA1 mutation, I made the decision to go forward with chemo and probably a bilateral mastectomy as well as removal of my remaining ovary.
