Ther is a man with liver cancer in my little town. He was given six months to live and that was almost eight years ago. He is still in treatment but living his life to the fullest and is an inspiration for me as I go through my cancer adventure. Hang in there and see what wonders there are in tomorrow. Best to you, M

    Hello, CMPQ
I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Esophageal cancer 9 months ago. I have gone through six week of chemo and radiation and just completed the transthoracic esophagectomy surgery. Tests, following the surgery, on the removed lymph nodes and stomach tissue showed that the chemo and radiation had completely removed the cancer. The surgery is to try and prevent the cancer from returning. I had cardiac bypass surgery two years ago and it was a cake walk compared to what I just went through, however it has been three months and i am mostly back to normal, though I am still trying to adjust my eating habits. If it will keep the cancer from returning it was all worth it. Hope this helps and if you have any other questions don't hesitate. Regards, M
Oh, make sure your surgeons have A LOT of experience with this procedure!
