I had a biopsy on April 3rd and on April 4th I was told the kind, size and what was thought to be the best treatment. I work in a major medical center so that may be the reason. When I had my Lumpectomy on a Thursday, I went to see my surgical oncologist on Monday and he had the final path--which was not what any of us were expecting to hear. I then had a bilateral mastectomy a month later and again from Thursday to the following Monday I had my final path.
The good was they had gotten all the cancer in the lumpectomy and no other nodes were involved, no radiation just chemo. I had a huge support system plus my faith in God to get me through. However, I do remember just sitting and staring off into space. I have found that everything for me with cancer was very slow moving. Diagnosed in April and did not start chemo until September. Hope you find out something very soon. Good luck!

You should have found out what kind it was after the biopsy, and get the final pathology on your mastectomy within one week of surgery. Call your surgeon's office there is no reason it should take longer than one week. I just had some scar tissue removed and had results within 3 days. Thank God that was clear. Coping for me was meditation, and having people I love around. Also, focus on yourself, shower, fix your makeup, etc just make yourself feel better for now and get your rest.
