Can anyone relate to the frustration of white blood cell count dropping causing a delay in treatment?

Oh yes I can. Each delay just caused more stress. I felt that the cancer was just taking control. Once my counts finally rebounded they cut my dosage down by 25% and now I get a shot 2 days later to help with the counts. I'll be anxious to see if my counts rebound next treatment. The bizarre think is I usually feel fine and assume I'm ready for treatment. Boy I do have stress! Good luck

I have treatment canceled due to low counts. It's was stressful but my dr changed my treatment schedule and then finally put me on a schedule where I get a shot 24 hours after chemo is done, called neulasta (sp). It has helped tremendously first time counts went from 6.4 to 9.8 to 9.5 and this past week to 8.5. Ask your dr about it. Have a great day

Radiation (External radiation ): Radiation wasn't as bad as I had imagined, which I guess is a good thing.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Medicine for low white blood cell count): My white blood cell count had dramatically fell. I've been put on hospice care, so at least it is nice to be home. But unfortunately they have dropped to low to continue with any chemotherapy or radiation.
