My mom was newly diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer, non small cell and has started treatments with internal & external radiation treatments. We are waiting for the chemo doctor to decide the best treatment options and will begin those in a couple of weeks. She had a scan done at the radiation office and was not provided any information about the scan other than it was for the doctor's information only and would not provide any relavent information for the patient or the family. Called today to find out when a test would be provided so that we could monitor her progress and was told that test would not be done until the 8 weeks of treatment were complete. How will we know if treatment plan needs to change if no information is available in the middle of this treatment?
