Decision Point (I'm at that point now. ): My cancer was stage 1, encapsulated and I had no cancer in the sential lymph node BUT I cannot take any of the estogen blocking drugs. I was close to smacking someone upside the head when I realized I had no quality of life during a 24 hour period. So my oncologist and surgeon feel my number 1 choice for surgery would be to remove the other breast. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around it. I'm so sad.

Procedure or Surgery (Mastectomy): My sister and daughter both caught serious colds and could not care for me after surgery. I had a "blessed" friend who came in from up State for a month to make sure my drain was clean, meds were taken and that we talked and actually did some laughing. She cooked meals and kept me company. I was so, so, so grateful to have someone care that much. The drains were a royal pain and she took those on like it was just anothr thing to do. I miss my breast but truly am so "on the floor" happy that it was caught so early. My healing went well although my armpit has never felt the same.

Oh No (Diagnosed): What the heck. Breast Cancer!~ I was surprised but ready to hear what my surgeon had to say. He gave advice to remove the breast & I took. But the day he told me by the time I got into the office across the way to set up my next appointments I was sobbing. Thank God I came home to a friend who got it. Then it was telling my family and getting ready to make decisions that would alter my body. As I said I took my docs advise and have not regretted it for a minute.
