    mrsbarber posted an update

My husbands diagnosis is fairly new. We found out 3 days after my birthday in September. A week later we met with the oncologist and had lots of information thrown at us very quickly. We were rushed through several more tests and the port implantation so he could start chemo less than 2 weeks later. I am grateful that the Dr pushed it fast because we had waited so long to find out what was going on. Since then I have just been a bundle of emotions. I cried over having to tell family. I cried trying to tell friends and co-workers. I cry for no reason every day. I cry while driving in my car. I cry at work. I cry laying in bed at night. When does the crying ever end?

HI Mrs Barber, lots of us here have been through that. It's not a good feeling to have, it's a very emotional trip.

I noticed you posted this as an update, this site works a little different that Facebook. If you will post this as a questiion in the questions tab at the top of any page, you will get more response. Questions there are routed to those with a like diagnoses, and the questions page is where most people go to browse the questions and offer help.

Give it a try, and thanks for being here and posting your journey.

Let me know if I can help with anything on the site.

Side Effects (Pain): He had bad pain in his bones on day 2 after the Neulesta shot and again on day 5. We read that taking claratin and alieve the day before and the day of can help prevent it so he will try that next time.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): My husband has only had one chemo treatment and the side effects were minimal. He had worse side effects from the Neulesta than the chemo itself. It was a long day and anticipating this we packed lots of snacks for hubby. He took the laptop and season 1 of Lost to keep himself busy and I took homework. Next time I need to remember to pack food for myself also. I spent so much time worrying about him I forgot about me.
