    mrsdoc2 posted an update

hi everyone ..just found this site.I have been on another one for almost a year..my husband was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in jan. 2012 at stage 3..after receiving 7 months of a shot and oral med of chemo ..he had a stem cell transplant in sept 2012 using his own stem cells.. it was a long 3 month recovery but he is doing much better and is back to work,,,there are some things he has a hard time doing because it causes pain..like lifting.. but all in all he seems to be doing good..he still has a trace of cancer in his blood but is on a maintenance chemo drug right now..same one he was on prior to transplant.his body responded well before so we're hoping it does again..he is on 25mg and they will increase it every 3 months if needed.. its been a long journey and one we apparently will be travelling for a long while..this cancer has no cure but is treatable.. just wanted to say hello and hope that everyonw is doing ok,,

Thanks for the update! We are happy to have you with us. Let me give you a tip about how this site works. The "status updates" that you post on your own home page wall, are only seen by your circle of friends that "follow" you by clicking your follow button. If you want to make an update statement like this, or ask a question to the entire community, over 10K, just click on the questions tab, then post in that box. You will get lots of response there.

Thanks for being with us and let us know if we can help you.

Procedure or Surgery (chemo for 7 months then 2 doses of high dose chemo then stem cell transplant using his own cells): the transplant went as well as expected however my husband has more aches today than before the transplant..but he is back to work and feeling stronger
