Procedure or Surgery (Breast Reconstruction (Implant)): I chose to have a bilateral mastectomy but only had cancer in the right side. Also had 3 lymph nodes involved. Had tissue expanders and in march 2012 had an exchange.

The pain I was having was under my right breast bone and it was a stabbing feeling. It would come and go and everytime i would start swimming it would get worse. What type of chemotherapy did you have? I had a bilateral in September 2011 with reconstruction.

I had chemo first, 12 weeks of taxol with carboplatin every third week. then adriamycin and cytoxin every other week four treatments. they wanted to shrink my tumors before surgery. My tumors shrank considerably. they were able to remove all cancer cells. I just always worry. I still get swelling in my arms and armpits sometimes.

Oh No (Cancer has spread/Metastasized): I had been done with chemotherapy for 6 1/2 months and radiation for 3 months. I was having pain in my rib area and started feeling bloated. I had a Ct scan which showed I had fluid around my lung a couple of nodules. I then had a pet scan which showed it is in my liver, bones and lung. I have went thrum my first round of chemotherapy.

I also had triple negative, stage 2a and finished chemo in Dec 2011. Had bilateral mastectomy in January 2012 With reconstruction. I am 39. I am so paranoid that the cancer will come back. my right elbow has been sore and I am convinced its bone cancer. my family and friends say its to soon and I'm being paranoid. How were you feeling to make you get checked again ?
