Other Care (major family support and love): it's been 1 1/2 years, my Dad had a scan in mid winter, and had a node in his lung, it was scary because it was 50/50 that there was a cancer spread. I made sure he was stocked up on his supplements and vitamins, his 2 month scan after was clear! I'm still freaked out, but am so happy.

My father just got his most recent scan and it came back ENTIRELY clear. I wish this for EVERYONE who has a loved one with cancer. I did a lot of research, and bought a LOT of supplements and vitamins. I KNOW it's not what 'cured' him, but I also know that it has helped, and helped to ward off anything new. If I can help anyone, I'd like to continue to help anyone I can if they are interested in vitamins and supplements. And I'll make sure to keep up with my page. I hope everyone is coping. I'm sending love and good thoughts to all.

    Dear Bobcantonga,

My father was diagnosed with a MONSTER tumor on his kidney, they optioned to have the whole thing removed because the kidney had become necrotic and was dead and likely not working at all anyway, it was a very aggressive form of cancer, and he did have the entire kidney along with the mass removed. He is now entirely cancer free...which is a mirical. The surgeons will likely be more informed once they do the surgery, and it was when they opened my Dad that they decided to do a FULL nephrectomy, not partial. I think in this case you might need your surgeons direction. There are a LOT of really wonderful supplements and vitamins that I have gotten him on, and in my fathers case we really believe that his amazing recovery was partially due to getting him on the supplements, his Dr's had prepared him for a 3 month recovery, basically bed rest for up to 2 for the most part...and my father was up and going out on short hunting trips near his home slightly under 2 weeks later. I have information on many supplements both for recover and keeping cancer at bay if you are interested. I don't see any posts up here so I'm wondering if you have another support network online, but if I can be of any help, pre OR post op, please feel free to contact me. In my fathers case, NOTHING had spread, so there was no follow up care thus far(this all happened 4 months ago). I don't know what your diagnosis is, or how you are, but you are in my thoughts.

Please feel free to contact me! I certainly hope that you are doing well!

    Very Sincerely
    ~N

My dad was diagnosed in Sept 2011, but I gotta say, the Drs he had were amazing, and through both conventional medicine and supplements, vitamins and the collective care from his wife who's a nurse, friends and myself(his daughter) he's doing great...we were terrified, but we just spent as much time together as we have been able to, and called all our weekend visits "cancer parties", made good healthy food, talked, marathonned fun tv series on DVD(Hero's & LOST) and right now he's doing really well...dont lose hope and if I could give a word of advice, do as much research on the internet as you can about what supplements are best and vitamins, here in the U.S. they dontcount that...but in europe and Japan, it's nearly unheard of to not integrate those things into healing and helping your body! Good luck, you and your Dad will be in my thoughts!

Thank you so much. If you don't mind. I may be needing to get more info from you regarding those vitamins. Again thank you.
