Yes I worked and drove during chemo and radiation. While chemo can result in some minor short term memory issues, it sounds as though your mother's issues may not be directly related to chemo or radiation since, if I understand you correctly, her problems began before treatment. Might she also have early onset Alzheimer's?

Some issues such as short term memory loss, disorientation, weakness and in the case of my girlfriend who has the same condition "Speech Aphasia" may also be caused by the tumors which are a part of this condition. Where tumors occurred will determine what the affects are and the size of the tumors will determine the severity of the problems encountered. It is important to remember that the related problems can occur long before diagnosis and treatment.

Had an oncology appt. yestday. Was given all the things to do and not to do. I wish I could see into the future so I knew what she was going to experience so I could do something now to help. I've been on the internet. Some people took loads of vitamins and supplements during chemo/radiation. Some didn't. PA told us yesterday not to. I don't like being told not to do something when in my mind, it could only help. But I didn't go to medical school. I think that is one of the hardest part. Trusting that they want to help her as much as I do.
