Cheryle, I too have been diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer. I am living proof that we can beat this. I responded well to chemo, went through AC every other week for 4 treatments then chemo every week for 12 weeks of Taxol, carboplatinum and Herceptin because HER2 positive. Had single mastectomy on left breast with lymph node removals (1 out of 9 positive) then 6-1/2 weeks of radiation five days a week. When first diagnosed the tumor in my liver was over 9 cm, but Herceptin did its job and shrunk it down to less than 3 cm so was able to have a liver ablation using heat to "zap" the tumor. As my doctor said, I still live with cancer and am not completely in remission, but as close as I can get. I was not sure I would be alive at this time when I was diagnosed last year, but I am proud to say,, I am still living. Hang in there and keep fighting. I lost my son to Melanoma five months before I was diagnosed with cancer and I just could not let cancer take me too and hurt my family more. Good luck to you.

Side Effects (Chemo brain): There is such a thing as chemo brain. I also had issues with my eyesight during chemo. Losing my hair was devastating. It is now coming in very nicely and curly.. unfortunately, also coming in grey.
