Hello I also had your cancer type! I am now cancer free! I went to Sloan Kettering in NYC. They were great! Had a surgeon who got all cancer out first shot and a plastic surgeon who did a flap from my calf to my left cheek! Need five weeks rehab to learn to walk and eat again! I also had a trach in my neck! Fit is now out and healed! I had a feeding pump! I weaned myself of that and now eat regular foods and I maintain my weight! Go,to NYC to get feeding tube out next week and a check up with my surgeon! Had a PET and CT SCAN A FEW MONTHS AGO AND I WAS STILL CANCER FREE! I had only radiation as an extra insurance they said and had it done in Sloan Kettering in Basking Ridge NJ and huge stills of the New York Sloan Kettering! Easier to get to and a lot cheaper as I am only down the road from you! I am in Howell just off exit 91. I am the assistant director at JSUMC for Emergency Medical Technicisns and we have an instructor from Hazlet! I had my surgery of July 13, 2012! I feel great back doing most everything again! Lost a bunch of top teeth but I manage okay! Small opening on side of nose but the dental guys in Sloan in NY will fix that! I see them in 2 weeks along with my plastic surgeon who I go to for a check up! My cheek flap is still a little swollen but he said he can take it down with a little liposuction! If you have any guest is or need to talk I am always available just soot me a message! Good Luck

I had a right radical neck dissection on June 26. All nodes were clean! After affects of surgery are hard. I have lost my smile, and have nerve damage to my right arm. I'm actively in physical therapy 3x a week. I had my 2nd follow up on september3. And suspicious spots found behind my molar on my jaw. Feel sucker punched. Biopsy scheduled for october3.
