I am new to this, My mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Poorly Differentiated Signet Ring Cell Adenocarcinoma a little over a week ago, had surgery to remove the part of her colon that contained a tumor the size of an orange, as well as 34 lymph nodes in her abdomen, 21 which were cancerous. She has more cancerous lymph nodes in her chest but it's too risky to operate on, and it would mean having to crack her chest. So the doctors are going to do chemo. She was given a 2 year life expectancy which is devestating to all of us. I am 29 years old and my sister is 18. It's just the 3 of us, and it's very scary and I don't know how to act around my mom half the time. The chemo she will be getting is Folfox and Avastin, coming up in a few weeks. My mom is very depressed, angry, bitter, etc. I have the same feelings, I'm scared, I am the primary person that will help take care of her and I have to be in school full time and work part time as well, starting in September. I don't know what to say to her on days that she is so angry, and cries. I try to help but sometimes I help too much and upset her with something I might say or do. I feel lost and lonely in this and am just trying to find people in my situation, to get a little bit of comfort out of all of this.
