Yesterday we learned about the next step in my best friends treatment.
She had all three FDA approved chemotherapy for her stage 4 colon cancer.
The last chemotherapy worked however she had a allergic reaction to the chemo and the allergist said two weeks ago if she took that again, it would cause serious damage to her lungs. Our next step was to learn about the Clinical Trials... we met the doctor at Dana Faber in Boston Mass and he was so nice! we gave us good detail on what a clinical trial is and all about the different types and stages. Then he gave us the heads up that she was only able to participate in one of the trials, this one is in stage 1 currently and hasnt shown anything quite yet. She cant have the others due to all the treatment she had that but her Neuroblastoma into remission when she was two. Its a six week trial and if it helps we will continue, if it doesn't we will got to the the next stage which is the wait until something is available and live our lives to the fullest. This shocking news didnt get our hopes down but killed our moods..... -
