    Can a tissue expander be left in during radiation and chemotherapy?

      Yes, yes, yes. I had my bilat with TE at the start of my journey....fills were during chemo...actually on the same day as the 1st three chemo....then I was done....radiation followed chemo.....and TE were just as they were from the fills....waited 6 1/2 months post rads to do the exchange....

      Hi!!.. Yes, my TE were in during chemotherapy and I was getting filled also when my counts were good. Had them in for 8 months.

      I had TEs during chemo and radiation, but my plastic surgeon didn't do any fills until 2 weeks after I was done. I had my exchange surgery 1 month after.

    Procedure or Surgery (Mastectomy): Was told I was stage I before surgery. Instead it was stage III. Plastic surgeon put in tissue expander but now I will need radiation therapy as well as chemotherapy.
