I had stage 2 grade 2 large sarcoma in my left thigh. I had surgery to remove it and started 33 radiation treatments 5 weeks later. I had a PET scan done after radiation and although it was clear, my oncologist wanted me to do chemo as an insurance policy. About 6 weeks later, I started 6 rounds of adriamycin, ifosfamide/mesna--3 days in the hospital every 3 weeks with the neulasta shot before going home from the hospital. My doctor told me it is a heavy-duty treatment. I had very little side effects compared to a lot of people. I was tired, but able to return to work 3 days after getting home. I did have trouble with constipation, very little nausea (soda crackers usually worked), some heartburn/indigestion. I had to have blood transfusions every session beginning with the 3rd as my numbers dropped too low. I had mouth sores for about a week starting with the 4th or 5th session. My doctor was amazed at the lack of symptoms I had; I was (and still am) drinking Essiac tea daily. I felt the chemo was much less painful than the radiation treatments. I have been finished for about 12 weeks now and my hair is about 1/8" long. I had another PET scan on July 12 and it was clear; next chest xray is around Oct 22.
Best of luck to you!

Just started DOXO myself... 4 days ago. First few days I felt a little off kilter. Been tired too. All in all, it's not been as bad as expected. Next session is in 3 days, and concerned that the worst is yet to come. Thanks for asking your question--lots of good responses for me too here.
