I've only been on gabapentin for a few months, I couldn't tell much difference in the beginning but now I can tell that it helps with the nerve pain associated with surgery. The last time I had a surgery like this the nerve pain was killer. Gabapentin wasn't even around back then.

Thank you all for taking the time to read and respond to my question with your invaluable input. I plan to not only investigate, but to also present them to my neurologist at my forthcoming appointment in the hope that she will provide her medical acumen and present me with some input and/or alternative possibilities.

My husband uses a compounted cream on his feet that has gabapentin and ketamine. it works extremely well.he was on cymbalta but had extreme mood swings and side effects. his psych switched him to prozac for depression and added abilify and his neuropathy seemed to be better after that. he no longer takes gabapentin.

Thanks for the encourgement...but sounds as if while you know several who did well on Keytruda, you may know of others who did not fair as well. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed now for both of us as we strive to keep the faith.

Hi Terri, just saw your wall post to Mark and wanted to touch base as I was diagnosed Stage IV melanoma in January and then scan and CT biopsy showed tumor now on my liver. On Keytruda but liver tumor has still grown larger. Just had a CT-placed fiducial (gold) beads) placed and now scheduled for CT confirmation of placement to then to start 6 every other days of focused radiation in hopes of destroying the tumor, while still taking every three week (Tuesday) session of Keytruda infusion. . And, on top I thin kl I am now exhibiting side effects from Keytruda as my finger joints, arm and shoulder muscles are sore and tight...as if I pulled muscles after hard labor. Trying to keep it all together and keep the faith at same time. Any thoughts, experience advice beyond that expressed to Mark appreciated in seeing that you are a 9 year survivor and now becoming my hero. Also I gather even after 9 years you are still on some on-going therapy. Thank you. .

Try Bad XXX Melanoma warriors. Google them. I guess I can’t publish my email. What groups are you in?

Thanks I’ll try that! I belong to melanoma stage 4 and melanoma warriors. I enjoy both group but recently there were a few in the warriors arguing about NED vs cancer free and it got kinda heated and people were being a little hurtful. The admin did step in and erased a lot of it.

I am sorry that happened. NED is not cancer free sadly. It’s a reprieve.
