Oh No (Misdiagnosed): Urologist treated recurrent bladder symptoms as infection while metastatic prostate cancer was taking over bladder wall. Oncologist pushed back to urologist who did nothing. Changed urologists, and had extensive bladder/kidney surgeries.

Oh No (Cancer has spread/Metastasized): CT and Bone scans every 3 months showed no metastasis, but PSA rising. Oncologist did not start chemo and urologist treated bladder symptoms as infection. PSA in Dec 2011 was 30. PSA in Jan was 100. Last scans Feb 2012 showed mulitple mets, bone, lymph, bladder and kidney malfunction. PSA before bladder and kidney surgery was over 400. Bladder surgery showed Gleason 10 over entire surface, blocking ureters. One kidney had lost over 60% of function, nephrostomy on other one to drain kidney.

Clinical Trial: After 15 years of stable, chronic PC, hormones stopped working. PSA rising, slowly at first. Investigated and applied to 2 programs and was not 'sick enough' to qualify. At time, no metastasis showing on CT or bone scans.
