    Loss (Lost loved one): After a hard fight with lung cancer my 79 yrs MOM loss her battle. She died May 24, 2013 at 10:14am. She was diagnosed on July 3, 2012. Hospice was a godsend. She left 3 grown kids and 4 grandsons, and was able to see her oldest grandson in his college graduation cap and gown. She will be greatly missed.

      one quick question - is the graduation near by - if so ask her medical team if they think she would be up to going - it will only take a few hours, and someone can drive her back early if need be.

      Can you get her to the University of Chicago? This is just two hours away. There are numerous treatments that can be done to prolong her life. Dr. Ravi Salgia. One of the best experts in Lung Cancer in the world.
      You are right..If you don't get her to Lung Cancer experts she will die Once a treatment plan is developed it can be given at another hospital.

      The UIC is where mom is being treated, by Dr. Hensing. Mom is doing better since I wrote that on
      Wednesday. She is getting physical therapy and getting her pain managed. That's all we can hope. Thanks for everyone time.
