Procedure or Surgery (Robotic assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy): Surgery went well - Even though this is major surgery i was up and about quickly - It was after my surgery that i realized that men are really quite uninformed about the need each needs to play in his personal health. To that end I formed www.PCaAware.com or the National Prostate Cancer Awareness foundation in an effort to motivate and educate men and their partners on the need for men to do routine physical check ups.

As a reviewer for the DoD Prostate Cancer grant application process I was privileged to review some 40 applications for various treatment options for advanced PCa - All I can say publicly is there is a lot on the horizon and if some of these are funded the future is may be looking a bit brighter for all of us - www.PCaAware.org

Thanks Afterglow. He can deal with the hot flashes but it's just everything else that is difficult including dizziness from injections they gave him after catching infections in the hospital.

Procedure or Surgery (Radical perineal prostatectomy): Actually my recovery went quite well. Following surgery and learning that few men had any knowledge of prostate issues or cancer I formed The National Prostate Cancer Awareness Foundation www.PCaAware.org to educate men and their partners about this disease.
