Oh No (First visit with oncologist): After hearing about my tumor having been cancer, we flew home to Ky the next day from my college in Chicago.
The next day we had my first appointment with my oncologist. She said, "I don't know what you were planning on doing the next year, but we need to put all your plans on hold. You'll need to drop out of school to stay here in Ky. You are scheduled for your next surgery and will get a long term catheter to get treatments for a year."

Procedure or Surgery (Surgery): I went into surgery to remove a lump that I had on my back for over a year. The doctors continued to say it was nothing and not to worry about it, but one doctor finally said, "well, it has gotten bigger so lets go ahead and remove it. When it was taken out, they then said, "oh, it's not what we thought it was"

Procedure or Surgery (Surgery): This was the second surgery to remove the tissue that was surrounding the tumor to make sure the margins were clear. They went through the same incision, just made it a little bigger.

Oh No (Diagnosed): I was in college studying for finals when my parents showed up. (I was in college in Chicago and I am from Ky.) I had been calling every day to hear the results from the surgery, so when I saw my parents standing there in my dorm doorway, I knew the news wasn't good!
