Celebration (fast forward 4 years =] ): April 1, 2009 was my last chemo treatment ! I just celebrated my 4 year cancer free birthday, so exciting! Way more exciting then my real birthday!! During those 4 years my hair grew back, eyebrows and lashes and my self confidence returned! I go every 2 months to my oncologist to be checked, tumor markers, exam etc. Ive had a few scares and a few biopsies since but all is well and Im soooo thankful!

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): Dec 23 I started chemo,Dec 24, first neulasta shot! That night I got so sick, I'll never forget it, it was horrible! My chemo was on Wednesdays and Id be fine until Saturday, that was my sick day and by Tuesday I was better. The shot made my bones and joints hurt terribly, I tolerated going to chemo, I had a port, that made it easier. Chemo doesnt hurt while your getting it, its the side effects after, and put the neulasta shot on top of that and theres where the sickness comes in. I was a trooper! Kept smiling and sense of humor- that is Key! I began to lose my hair 6 days after my first treatment, devastating, the physical transformation began!

Ah yes, the fabulous Neulasta shots. I think those made me feel worse than the actual chemo. I'm so glad you are doing better!!

Radiation (Internal radiation (Brachytherapy)): such a painful procedure and home care was a nightmare! Thank God for my husband! When all was said and done, as painful as it was Id do it all over again, the treatment was over in 5 days, catheters in for 7 days and it was done!! As far as the treatments went, they were a piece of cake, twice a day for 20 min for 5 days....

Clinical Trial (A study/clinical trial brachytheraphy-Multi Catheters): procedure was grueling!! I was not put under and I requested to be, laying on a table while the Dr shoved 30 catheters through my left breast, 63 lidocane shots during procedure and remember staring at the ceiling waiting for it to be over
