Celebration (Anniversary): This August I celebrated 11 years pancreatic cancer free! God is so good! I was the mother-of-the-bride this June ...saw the first of my three children marry. Can 't wait for grand babies!

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Depression medicine): Following completion of treatments, I became clinically depressed. I refused to take antidepressants because of the side effect of nausea...I was puking for months and just the thought of being nauseated made me nauseous! My physician and counselor convinced me...after six weeks of a low dose of Zoloft ( 25mg) ...I am very sensitive to drugs...I woke up one morning and remember saying to myself " wow...I forgot what it felt like to feel normal". I told my oncologist he should put all his patients on antidepressants...it made such a difference

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): the plan was to have chemo Gemsar weekly, 3 weeks on, one week off , for 6 months. extremely nauseated, vomiting frequently. None of the "normal" anti nausea/ vomiting drugs worked. I found Ativan to be the most helpful...and pretty cheap.

Radiation (External radiation ): During 25 treatments of radiation, I had continuous chemo of 5- FU via portacath (24/7) During that time, fatigued, not allow to shower ( because of port) :(
