I had my first chemo treatment today. I was honestly terrified. When they did my vitals, my blood pressure was much higher than normal but it was so much better than I could have imagined. The nurses were wonderful. I was afraid of pain using my port for the 1st time but I applied the cream prescribed for it an hour before my appt and it didn't hurt at all. My treatment lasted 3 hrs. I fell asleep when I got home and it was the most restful I've slept since being diagnosed. I won't have radiation till after surgery and that's at least 5 months out.

It may take a few days before you feel any symptoms. Just do what you can. And if things like fevers come, call the office when you need to. They can help you feel better.

The worst thing about radiation for me was the fact that I had to get naked. But I am here today. So it was worth it
