      Mine did not heal due to diabetes. They did two debridements. I had to soak gauze in sterile water and then pack the open wound. Slowly the wound did heal up but it took about eight weeks.

      Hi there;
      There is a wound cleansing spray, and wound gel and it has deoderizing properties in it and you may need to get it from a med-surge supply store. There is also a swave called calmoseptine and it is also sold at med-surge supplies stores. it may help you to heal your wound from inside out but ask your dr's permission first.

      I'm sorry to have found this `question so late and do hope that your problem, by now, is resolved.

      Along with whatever treatment your doctor gives, you can also do some things (clue your doctor in, please) to help yourself which ought not to interfere with your doc's medications.

      There is an herb called yarrow. It is quite common to gardeners. Brew it as a strong tea and then let it cool. Place the leave into a thin clean cloth envelope and use as a poultice against the wound. Yarrow has been used in this manner for 1,000s of years. Achilles was one of the most remembered. He was an ancient warrior who used it in battle and to heal the wounds of his army of men.

      The odor is most likely either the cancer, itself, or some sort of infection. you need to address what is causing the odor rather than the odor, itself. I see this is an older question. how are you doing?

      Blessings

      I am in so much fear.I am not afraid to die, but all the stuff that I need to take care of before, like password to banking, doctors and alot of stuff. I see the surgeon today and find out how fast the cancer is spreading and a guess of how much time I have. He already said he went as deep as he could last time. I hope I am a little bit more together after I know more. My husband and I have a cruise planned for the 15th of August and a trip in October to go see our 3 year old grandson in Texas. Nothing else on my bucket list that I can think of. I wish this all was a bad dream. Polarpat

    Decision Point: If Dr. will do more surgery or not. If it would effect my quality of life.
