I know now Tamoxifen is being touted as great to take for 10 years now. Due to my 12 years of bioidentical hormones, my uterine wall has already thickened. I don't relish the possible uterine cancer effect of Tamoxifen when I am already vulnerable. With a low oncotype dx score (2) I am weighing the side effects of Tamoxifen against my increased risk of breast, or distant cancer recurrence if I do NOT take it.

Does anyone have statistics on this kind of scenario?

Hi Poodle, good picture, I'm a musician too. Well, I'm a drummer, the rest of the guys say that doesn't qualify as musician.

Log in on adjuvant online and enter all your information. You should be able to get a survival score from the site.

Wait...if you took hormones, does that mean you're in menopause? If so, shouldn't you be on an AI? AIs definitely superior to Tamoxifen, not sure if they carry a risk of uterine cancer.

Celebration (low oncotype dx score): Hooray! My score came back at 2. A 4% chance of distant recurrence if I take Tamoxifen.

Procedure or Surgery (Lumpectomy): As what I do requres not only hauling of equipment to performances, but pressing my instrument (classical guitar and baroque plucked instruments" directly against my right breast--right on the incisions--ouch-- I have not been able to practice or perfrom for nearly two months. Soon, though, I hope.
