I just finished Radio-Embolization with Y90. I had three liver mets, metastisized from rectal cancer. The medium and large spots shrunk substantially, while the small spot grew. It was fed by a small blood vessel and the Y90 didn't get through. I'm next getting percutaneous radio frequency ablation (needle and heat) to remove the small and large spot. The medium spot is near the rib cage and damage is a concern. Hopefully the medium spot continues to shrink and will not be an issue. I'm glad I did the radio-embolization. Minimally invasive with little risk. Although I was extremely fatigued for about a week, about a week after the procedure. Make sure your interventional radiologist can do either glass or resin beads, the choice being dependent on what they find the blood flow to be during the planning session. The resin beads are approved for colon cancer, while the glass beads are used under a study.
