Ravenmom wrote on candy's wall
Hi Candy, hope you don't mind me writing on your wall. I have esophageal cancer, stage III. I have been looking for other people close by going through the same thing I am. My cancer battle barely began a few months ago. It's been awful from the get go, I can't imagine having to deal with this for years! I hope you feel better really soon.

Decision Point (Other): Right now just waiting to see what doc wants to do. I still have to have surgery but he says I'm not recuperated enough yet from Chemo and radiation. Going for follow up appts, playing it by ear.

Radiation (External radiation ): Started radiation during Chemo, after a while caused nausea, throwing up, weakness and fatigue. Also caused ulcers in my esophagus, and difficulty swallowing and eating. Still having these effects. Radiation ended about two weeks ago.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): Was given taxol and carboplatin weekly for 4 weeks, then only carboplatin for 4 more weeks. Been puking up my toenails since first dose. Prescribed multiple nausea meds, a couple somewhat work for a while. Chemo ended about a month ago, still throwing up, hair falling out, still feel weak and tired a lot. Also lost all muscle tone.

Procedure or Surgery (Implant chemotherapy port): Mediport and feeding tube inserted. Mediport has been great. I hated that feeding tube.
